Bling, Bikini's and Big Ole Goals

It was probably one to my toughest training times outside of boot camp and the police academy.

And it had to be! Because I was going to be on a stage, in a blinged out bikini, rocking out a pair of clear 4 inch stiletto's, walking back and forth across this stage, striking various poses, with a smile on my I prayed I didn't trip!

And it...was...awesome!!!

I felt amazing, was in my best shape to date, and was soooooo glad that I had taken the time to really prepare for this moment. The chance to take my physique and my fitness to a new level that I was really proud of.

But none of that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't set that goal for myself. That goal of competing in a figure competition before I turned 40. The goal of training as hard as I could to create the best physique I could, to reach the next level in my personal fitness journey. It all started with me setting a goal for myself....and then creating a plan for making it happen!

So many times we make these casual statements about things we want to see happen in our life and think that somehow they are just going to HAPPEN just because we say we want them.

And don't get me wrong, I am all about the power of making a declaration!

But when we are SERIOUS about something....and this is the REAL conversation we usually need to have with ourselves....we don't just make a statement, we set an actual goal.

See, a goal will give you that kick in the booty, it gives you focus, it gives you purpose for the actions that you are taking.

Using my competition as an example, working out took on a WHOLE new meaning when it was tied to being on stage, in a bikini, in front of hundreds of people. Cause there was no way I was going to get on that stage looking any less than my personal best! It helped me to become so much more focused, so much more disciplined, so much more intentional about the work I was putting in!

And the end result made it all so worth it.. Because in the end....I was proud of me!

As this year starts winding down, we all tend to do this inventory of what we have accomplished and what we want to do better next year....which is a great practice. It's always beneficial to do some self reflection.

But ladies, my challenge to you is this. Just ask yourself, what is that ONE THING that you have really wanted to do for yourself? Don't think about what you didn't do in this moment, ask yourself what is one thing you have really wanted to do?

Get a new or different job? Start your own business? Try a new sport? Take on a new hobby?

Don't filter it, just write it down!

Now make it your GOAL to MAKE IT the next 30 days!

Yep, you heard me...the next 30 days! Not "in the New Year", make it a goal to get it done THIS YEAR! Don't underestimate what you can do in the next 30 days.

Now could I have complete my training for a fitness competition in 30 days.....nope!

But I could have picked a show, hired my coach, started my training and started taking steps to make that goal happen in the next 30 days.

And you can too.

I am already super excited for you because I can hear your wheels turning...and I can't wait to hear what goals you have set for yourself!

So do me a favor, leave a comment and let me know what you are going to do in the next 30 days.
