Is Someone Watching Your back??

So if you guys are anything like me, nothing motivates you to get moving better than a good ole challenge. And what makes a challenge really successful.....accountability!

If you remember, a few weeks ago, I asked my FB community to challenge me and help me stay accountable with a #fivedayfast...and my particular choice for fasting was TV.

It was super interesting to me because it turned out to be a whole lot harder than I thought it would be! But it really helped me to see where I was using television as a way of procrastinating when there was something I didn't really want to do.

Or a nice way to "check out" for a while when I was feeling overwhelmed or stressed about something.

I also found out I truly am NOT a great multitasker - which I don't think anyone really is! Watching TV, while doing something else means I really don't get much enjoyment out of whatever I am watching. And whatever I am doing while watching, well let's face it, it isn't getting done well at all.

Suffice it to say, I learned a few fun facts about myself through this little challenge. But the best part was, when I actually committed to it and had others hold me accountable...namely all of matter how much I wanted to turn on the tv (and I wanted to A LOT)....I didn't do it....cause FB was watching.

Accountability baby, it's the ticket to helping us really stay committed!

So what about you? Where could you really use some extra accountability?

Because here's the deal. If you REALLY want to hit that goal, beat that bad habit, meet that deadline, get in those workouts you promised, eat better, it's time to tell someone about it. It's time to make it real and add that extra layer of commitment by really being accountable.
